G20 leaders are slated to meet at Copenhagen to formulate the carbon emission cut equations .India is weighing its strategies which will convey our seriousness & efforts towards global enviornmental problem but at the same time does not compromise its growth and development.Though India is technically correct in refusing to cut emission drastically and claiming the right to improve our standard of living.
But in the matters of life &death,we cannot afford to look only through one lens.We need to look all aspects covering our long as well as short term vision.Indian culture promotes harmony ,peace & cooperation. We have always taken firm moral stand against all kind of war on mankind .So,India must play an active role in this “war of necessity”.
As saying goes “charity begins at home”.India needs to reform the policies and action plan which optimizes our efforts without any economic burden or deficit. One such policy which needs immediate reform measures is Fuel Subsidy. This encourages to use fuel without brakes .Subsidy is stressing the economy resulting in high deficit .Remove the subsidy and let the market decides the fuel price.Invest the subsidy fund in research & development of green technologies. This will earn us some brownie points on global platform. This may lead to transfer of technology and money from developed world.
We need to work out.We cannot choose to lose .

I came across two articles on nytimes pertaining to ecosystem stabilization and conservation.Partly I liked it because it gave a break from monotonous health care reform debates.Partly ,because both of them hold promises and hope to make our earth a greener and sustainable. With a ray of hope in sight ,we can dream of a better tomorrow.
First one was about the historic judgement which directed GE to purge the Hudson River of toxic chemicals by dredging the toxic mud bank from river bed.It is corollary of “Superfund Law ”formulated during this legal battle between E.P.A and GE.It holds polluter rather than taxpayers responsible for bearing the cost of clean up.Is there any lessons for India and country who has created this law?Yes.
Need of similar law in India which will act as a deterrent for public & industry from polluting water bodies .Even religious acts like immersion of idols should be banned.
Further extrapolation of this law and judgement will melt the iceberg between the developed and developing nations on cap on CO2 emission.US and other developed nation who are largely responsible for polluting the atmosphere as a consequence of decade old industrialization can be held as “Polluter”.So,they have the responsibility of cleaning the mess they have created. They cannot force developing country to reduce Co2 emissions and thus hinder their growth and industrialization. They also have a right to attain prosperity and growth for their people. They (here they can be referred as Taxpayers)should not pay for somebody else sins.Hope US will learn it from their own law of land.
Second article was on innovative technology called“Vertical Farming”.This will allow you to do soil free farming on each floor with little water and nutrients. This green technology can help us in food security, cultivation of toxic free vegetables, conservation of water apart from making environment more green.Hope Real estate industry and govt will utilize it to unleash its power .
Both articles reinforce the saying”Follow the fellow who follows a dream”Here,Superfund Law & vertical farming are fellows who have a dream of make the earth greener, cleaner and healthier”.Lets follow them before it is too late.

Recent events in oil & gas sector has put everyone to think & speculate the outcome on RIL-RNRL-NTPC gas dispute over KG Basin.
Legal jurisdiction on the dispute will be delivered in Honourable Court. So,further discussion on the legal front of siblings war will be a futile effort .Lets discuss the other interesting aspects of the story.
The other lines of discussion are Money,Power & Butter. The ongoing battle shows that Money has become thicker than the blood nowadays. Its above all relations of love ,peace & brotherhood.Just concluded 40 th anniversary of Woodstock festival – a symbol of peace & love seems to be irrelevant today as everyone wants one thing in their life-MONEY.Seldom do we feel satisfied.(Yeah dil maage MORE.)
POWER-You need power to win a battle- Political,Emotional& Mental. You need to know the appropriate time to play a particular card to swing the needle in your favour.Political power needs no futher explanation .Remember the emotional speech & statements by Ambanis and petroleum minister. And you need a good mental power to express your emotional power & build your political power.
BUTTER-You need tons of butter to possess the above two factors. It can be in any form-bribe,commission or big advertisements and speeches. The latter ways (ads &speeches)can bring public support and subsequently help in changing government stand.

Today is Indian’s Independence Day.Though many Indians are celebrating the day ,few are enjoying the holiday with their family and still there are people who are trying to use it to publicise and promote their show.
Shah rukh Khan went to USA to celebrate the independence day as special guest in some Indian community. He was reportedly detained in US airport and questioned for 2 Hours.Media has alleged his surname (though not his religion) as the reason for this humilation.
Is it happened because he is Khan or is it a media publicity for his next movie. His upcoming movie is named as “My Name is Khan”.Fox has got the marketing and distribution rights at an whopping Rs 100 Cr ore. This is the biggest deal ever in a Bollywood .So ,the producers and actors has to make it a huge success .
I know many Khans who has visited US.And I know many people who are questioned by officials to mitigate risks. There is nothing to do with any surname. Its a official routine procedure which took only 1 hour.
If you blame it on a more potential reason i.e. religion,I could have believed his story. But as he and media is citing his surname as the reason,it is nothing but marketing for “My Name Is Khan”which is inexpensive but a poor & cheap way.
This also shows a nexus between producers and news channels who broadcasts such irrelevant reasons and make the news out of proportion. This not only hampers the diplomatic relations but also strains the secularism of India .In the recent times, promotion techniques have changed a lot,but this new way by King of Bollywood is really depressing.
Well acting Shah Rukh Khan!(That’s why you are called Superstar.)

India’s going to celebrate its 62nd Independence Day.What we had lost and what we gained after 62 years of independence?
We always look the greener side of the story but fear to even recognise or introspect our failures. So,everybody can answer the second part(i.e gains) in his /her own way.
What we had lost is most difficult to answer prudently. But here,I am answering this part.
We had lost the most precious legacy of our culture ,history and tradition-Ahinsa(Non-violence),Sathyagraha(Force of truth) and fight for democracy.May be many of us has forgotten the founder of these terms too-Mahatma Gandhi.
Mynanmar Issue is classic example of letting down MG by modern India at international diplomatic levels.Suu Kyi ,a Noble Peace Prize laureates who is symbol of non-violent struggle for democracy and human rights(the principles of Gandhi). She has been put under house arrest for many years. In the recent election, her party National League of Democracy won almost all seats.Instead of leading the democratic govt ,she is still under house arrest and facing trail.
It is expected from Indian government to support her and raise this issue at all international levels.Instead, government is not participating in any active dialogue or putting an international pressure for justice for this disciple of Mahatma Gandhi.
Hope ,India will respect the Father of Nation by supporting her .Wake up India!!

Recently ,I have came across an ad that says”One INDIA says give me a chance and I will prove myself. And other INDIA says I will prove myself and will get a chance.”But is there any place for second India in our society?
I have always been an anti caste based reservation system.Reservation on basis of caste and religion has failed to give benefits to people for whom it is meant.I have friends who have got good education and job on reservation basis even when their families(father and fore fathers) are well educated ,well settled in terms of social & financial basis.Give Reservation to someone who really needs it irrespective of caste.
Maniram Sharma’s case is eye opener for politicians and law makers who supports castism.A son of labourer & three time IAS Qualifier who is 100% deaf but went 5km for school in a hope of better future. He has been disqualified twice earlier .This year he underwent cochlear transplant which has reduced his disability to 70%.Had ranked among top 50 in interview despite his disability. But Still not qualified to become IAS.
Probably he belongs to second INDIA but still waiting for a chance.
But why government is not providing reservation to him when he is far better than many reserved category candidates. Of course, politicians will not get any vote bank as it is not based on caste.Seldom do our society fight for justice for people like Maniram. They can only rejoice over new quotas being introduced like OBC quota .
Where we are heading.?Again 15TH Aug is approaching and we have to answer the most important question :Are we heading for an developed and equatable society after 62 years of independence?
Hope ,we still have some people left who can “fight for justice ” for brilliant Maniram.
Jago India!Jago Re!!(Wake India ! Wake before its too late)

The two software giants are again going for head on fight .This time its going to be more intersting as google is foraying into operating system(OS) domain which is dominated by Microsoft.
Google has beaten expectations of not only users through its innovative products but also market with 3% rise this quarter.Microsoft reported a 17 % drop in sales this quarter.
Last month,MS launched “Bing”search engine in a bid to compete with search leader”Google”.Though it promises to give a better result than google in coming years but the road ahead is very tough. It is not expected to create any dip in google’s share anytime soon.Such is the google power that nowdays” GOOGLING “has replaced the conventional words like Search/find.And it is getting better and better with time.
But the real fight is gearing up as Google Chrome is going to hit the market.Already it has dampened the MS excitement on launching of new Windows 7.It has further made MS worried over it’s dominant position in OS.
World is eagerly waiting for both products .If Google chrome succeeds(as they are always expected),then it will be a threat to microsoft monopoly. But even if Google don’t do fairly well, still it will strengthen its challenge to MS with its innovative applications. Its a win win situation for Google.
Let’s do googling to find out the winner.

Nourished many dreams in my heart;
Throughout my life
For my life.
Some dreams turned into reality
Others became distant dreams
Time made them invisible
But not forgettable.
One day
I went into my past.
Realized my success;
Measured failures too.
An inner voice beckoned in my heart.
I listened carefully.
Said “Napi hai do bega zameen [Measured only 2 part of earth]
Baki hai Napna yeah khula asmaan.”[The whole sky has to be measured yet ]
One day.
May all my dreams come true.I hope.

This Lok Shaba election has given a new dimension in the Indian parliament.Apart from usual power and opposition equations, age factor may be considered as an emerging dimension in the arena. Many young MPs have been inducted this time .Thus raising new hopes and dreams in the life of common man.
But do we need Young Leaders for bringing a change?Or Is our scale of defining “Young ” is radical?
Recently,I have came across violence in the constituency of King of young MPs Rahul Gandhi ,Amethi. The reason for violence and lathicharge is very common:No electricity in the villages even after 2nd term of young minister. The minister blamed it on state government.
So what a common man of Amethi has got from a young MP..?Only hopes, dreams and assurances .
I have an opportunity of living in most backward state of India,Bihar(as considered by media ).When I started living in the capital Of Bihar,Patna,it was in pathetic state in terms of governance and social development. Thanks to decade of Lalu-Rabri regime.
Elections were held after one year.People of Bihar elected NDA government with an engineer chief minister Nitish Kumar.Result-After 3 years of government run by an old CM,you can visualise the fruits of developments in every sector-education,infrastructure,law and orders, social security.Though still a lot has to be done for improving the condition of state .This stability resulted in the clean sweep of NDA in this election with big weights like Lalu -Paswan nearly ousted .
So ,hopes and dreams of Bihar turned into reality by a old(in terms of age of ministers) but effective government. So Is age can determine whether you are young or not.?
No.Your vision, your attitude ,thinking and your effectiveness determine your young factor.Even if you are 20 and believe in castism, racism ,caste based reservation system etc, then you are old enough to bring an change. You can deliver only one thing-Assurances and hopes .
Age cannot be used to differentiate between young and old.

Union Budget for FY2009-2010 has been tabled in the parliament.Public polls and debates are still going on across the country.Though I have not participated in any poll or SMS contest (or intend to do so) of T.V channels regarding the budget,I have analysed the finance bill for education sector through this blog.
Education sector has been emphasised in Honorable Minister’s speech. At least he has recognised the importance of education and intends to use education to convert the young population into dynamic economic advantage. Objective is really appreciable. But is the budget effective enough to tap the demographic advantage in building New India?
Schemes like “Mission in Education” ,setting of central universities has been covered in the bill.2113 Cr is allocated to NITs & IITs.So ,government has allocated sufficient funds (if not enough) to education sector.
Being an NITian ,I went back to my college days and thought Is money enough for boosting the education ?I have seen little development in my college during my stay even though sufficient funds were allocated each year .I have seen misuse of funds more than utilization for development of the college.
So ,where and why the government is pumping money?I must narrate a story and hope you can answer the question.A new director joined my esteemed institution .The first thing my college got was new Honda City for the director. The old director’s car was started being used for unofficial purposes by his family .Is the money going into corrupt officials, bureaucrats and politicians pocket?
A college in Bihar is run by senate which meets in New Delhi. So,allocated funds has to be used in flight fares of authorities. Is the senate in Delhi which meets once a year can supervise the progress of the institution? You can find the corruption in almost every front ,from faculty recruitment to tenders bidding.
New institutions are opened without any proper infrastructures. It is good initiative to open more educational centers to cater the need of growing population. But you cannot convert the young population into economic advantage with poor facilities and rusted education system.
Increasing fund allocation each year cannot make a dynamic and successful change. You need a better management and better blue print for economic & optimal utilisation of the allocated funds.
Mr .Minister though you have quoted Kautaliya ,you should also know that as you need water, sunlight ,fertilisers etc apart from seed for fruit growth, you need proper and energised delivery mechanisms for economic growth apart from fund allocation.
